Types of Bottom wear to pair up with Kurtis

With the sudden emergence of Indo-Western fashion these days, our closets are brimming with so many kurtas and kurtis. Whether it’s an office day, a party, or even a vacation, we all love to wear Kurtis, which are versatile and chic, and fit every occasion. But how can we wear one Kurti again and again without making it look dull or repetitive? Well, how you pair your Kurtis is fundamental to your overall style. Do you know that you can style one Kurti in at least five ways with different bottom wears?

Isn’t it amazing?

But most of us face many problems while deciding how to style our Kurtis. You need to consider many factors before pairing them up, like the patterns of Kurtis, the kind of thread work, or overall colour and fabric of the Kurtis, etc. Every small detail plays an important role in choosing the right bottom wear that goes well with your whole outlook. You must also consider what occasion you are planning to wear your favourite Kurti on. Remember that Kurtis fit perfectly for almost every occasion only when you pair them with the right bottom-wear. Otherwise, you may face a fashion gaffe. And we understand how it can be overwhelming with so many types of Kurti options. Choosing the right pair  can seem to be impossible!

But not anymore! We have got a small guide that will help you every day!

Tapered Fit

If you are someone who wants to look elegant for a special occasion, then you can choose tapered-fit Indo-Western Trousers. These pants have been an evergreen trend  and have become quite popular with youngsters trying their hands with Indo-Western attires. These are perfect for home parties or when you have guests at your home. These look perfect if you pair these with A-Line kurtas or Straight Kurtas. You will look gorgeous if you pair your half-sleeved Kurtis with cotton tapered fit pants.

Now, if you have a Kurti with block prints like Kalidar Kurtis, go for pants that have work on the hem. With a tapered fit, you can go for contrasting or the same colours.

Focus on the kind of work that your Kurti has and base your style of hem pants accordingly.

Walk around in Palazzos

If you are ever in a hurry and can’t decide which bottom wear would be best for your Kurtis, always choose a pair of palazzos! You should always keep one or two palazzos in your closet for such situations.

But otherwise, if you have a Kurti of A line-shaped or three-quarter sleeves straight Kurti, then palazzos are the best bet. So, you go for contrasting colours. Now, there are many types of palazzobut for office and casual wear, slack palazzos would be best. It’s easy to walk around and makes you comfortable in any situation.

If you have to add more oomph, for example, at an Indian festival, go for Palazzos with intricate patterns and designs and more layers. Pair it up with Jaipur Jutis or block heels.

Palazzos are a comfortable piece of attire you can wear in any season, especially in the summers. You can try Bohemian tawdry jewellery according to your style to look gorgeous!

Note: Do not wear Palazzos with Kurtis with an Anarkali shape or umbrella cut.

Twirl Around in Skirts

Skirts have created storms in the Indian Fashion industry recently. Sometimes we want to look fashionable with Indian clothing with flares cascading down. But wearing lehengas with heavy work is not always an option. So, what do you wear on simple occasions that go well with Kurtis and don’t feel heavy? Skirts!

If you have A-line Kurtis or Straight Kurtis, you can pair them with skirts. The best bet for choosing the perfect skirt would be to go for contrasting colours. Finish your look with either simple statement pieces if you visit a night party or housewarming party. Or go for oxidised jewellery if you are going for an office party and a day-out.

According to the weather of the day, choose your fabric. We recommend using cotton and silk for skirts if it’s a summer day.

Note: Avoid skirts if you wear Anarkali Kurtis or kurtas with a lot of flares and pleats.

Leggings

If comfort is the thing that you are looking for, then a pair of leggings is your answer. No matter what shape your Kurti has or what colour of Kurti you are choosing for the day, a pair of leggings are perfect! These are best for office settings or a college day-out. Leggings are all about comfort, which makes you look chic. Maybe, this is why leggings are a wardrobe staple and the favourite choice amongst the people to pair with Kurtis. Whether you are travelling long distances or need to appear for a job interview, all you need is an A-line Kurti and a pair of leggings to get ready!

Also, leggings come in all colours, so you don’t have to only rely on black leggings! There are leggings which even come with intricate work on the bottom. You can also wear these with Anarkali and Umbrella cut Kurtis!

Fire up With Flared Pants

If you love shararas or palazzos, then flared pants are your style! In the summer, you always look for clothes that are comfortable to wear. So we avoid clothes which are form-fitting or snug closely to your skin. And what’s perfect about that Flared pants in such weather?

Pair these flare pants with long Kurtis. If not, you can pair these with short Kurtis but three-fourth sleeves. If it’s an Indian occasion, you can add a cotton dupatta which would make you look elegant so that no matter where you stand, heads would turn around to look at you!

These pants are perfect for those days when you want to keep your look simple yet stylish. For accessories, you can choose some tawdry jewellery and a pair of Jaipur juties. If you want to add more oomph to your whole outlook, then choose block heels!
